Biography

Mrs. Dale McHardy is presently an Assistant Professor and Head of the Banking, Economics and Finance Department at The University of the Bahamas where lectures in finance, banking and economics courses. She has been employed in senior capacities in four quasi-governmental organizations. Before joining the University, she served as the Manager, Business Advisory Services Unit and Corporate Secretary at the Bahamas Development Bank (BDB), and prior to that as Project Development Manager and Manager, Marketing Research and Statistics at the Bahamas Agricultural and Industrial Corporation (BAIC). She started my career as a Central Banker in the Research Department as a Junior Economist.

Mrs. McHardy hold a Master of Arts Degree in Applied Economics from The American University, a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Miami and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from The American University. She is also a Certified Economic Policy Analyst. She has considerable international exposure, including official travel to Colombia, Washington, D.C., New York, Guyana, Jamaica, and the Republic of China. She participated in other educational training initiatives through the International Economic Co-operation Development Fund and College of Business, Chinese Culture University, the United States Information Agency, International Visitor Programme, Workshop on Small and Medium Enterprise Development, the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. Other training included seminars on central banking, economic analysis and monetary policy.

She a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., the Eta Psi Omega Chapter. She is married and the proud parent of three children, and the proud grandmother of three lovely granddaughters.
The Council shall have responsibility to assess compliance with the general principles, fiscal responsibility principles and fiscal objectives, and to advise on fiscal and budgetary matters of the Bahamian Government.
